Problem: In attempting to download the database from update-central.com, the user name and password are not accepted

First Class Version 2 database updates work differently from version 1 updates. You no longer need to go to update-central.com, download, and unzip. Read page 8 of your instructions:

"To update, you will first need to establish an Internet connection. Open First Class and select File | Update Database... from the menu. You will be prompted to enter the password, and from then on everything is automatic."

Also note that you will not be reminded by e-mail when the database updates are posted. It's up to you to remember that they are posted around the first of January, March, May, July, September, and November. (Interim updates — photos only — might be posted around the first of the alternate months. Check the readme.txt file that is displayed at the end of the download.)

If you "miss" a database update, there is no need to worry. The program knows which updates have not been installed, and it will always bring your database up to date.
