Problem:
I am using Windows Vista, and I can't get First Class to install properly.
Windows
Vista adds extra security with its User Account Control (UAC). If
you are having problems installing First Class, you might need to
turn off the UAC, reboot, install First Class, turn on the UAC again,
and reboot again. Specific instructions:
-
If
you have installed First Class, uninstall it.
-
Click
on Start > Control Panel.
-
Under
User Account and Family Safety click
on Add or remove user accounts.
-
Click
on one of the user accounts, for example you can use the Guest account.
-
Under
the user account click on the Go to the main
User Accounts page link.
-
Under Make changes to your user account
click on the Change security settings
link.
-
Under
Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make
your computer more secure, "uncheck" the Use
User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer
check box. Click
on the Ok button.
-
You
will be prompted to reboot your computer. Do so when ready.
- Now install
First Class. You should be able to do so without a problem.
-
In
order to re-enable UAC, go through the same steps, but "check"
the above checkbox and reboot.
