Please be aware that there is a difference between the program and the database. First Class is a computer program that displays and searches African violet names, descriptions, and photos. Those names, descriptions, and photos are contained in a database. A database update is released at least every two months. You should update your database regularly so that it will be current with the latest names, descriptions, and photos. To update your database, click on the Update Database tab, then click on the Check for Updates button. (For version 2.2.12 and earlier, click on File > Update Database... on the menu.) If you happen to "miss" any updates, they will be downloaded with the next update.
Every once in a while a new feature will be added to the program, or a bug will be fixed. When that happens, a new version of the program is posted for free download. While you don't need to download the latest version, you might want to take advantage of the new features. To download the latest version upgrade, click on the link below. Each upgrade is a complete program, incorporating all of the features of the previous versions.
Version 2.6.8 – First Class Version 2.6.8 is now available
for download. Scroll down and check the Version History on that page
to find out what has been changed since your version. (You can find
the version number of your program by looking in the lower-right part
of the screen, under the stamp.) Be aware that the download will not
work unless you have previously installed First Class Version 2 on your
computer.
First Class 2 Instructions – Are you unsure whether you'll be able to understand how to use First Class 2? Or do you just want to find out more details? If so, you can download the instructions for free. This is also helpful if you lost your instructions, or if you want a more recent copy that explains some of the more recent features.
Readme Files – Each time you download a database update, a readme.txt file is displayed, with helpful information, including the names of descriptions and photos that have been added since the last update.
